SUNY Oswego-Assistant Professor of Theatre -Theatre History & Criticism
The Theatre Department at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full time tenure track Assistant Professor in Theatre History & Criticism, to begin in August 2024.
The candidate will teach a variety of courses such as: Introduction to Theatre, Theatre History, Text Analysis, Dramaturgy, and in other areas of specialization. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong evidence as a collaborator and show a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. This position will support department productions through the execution or mentorship of student dramaturgy.
In addition, the Assistant Professor of Theatre History & Criticism will be expected to display and maintain a demonstrated excellence in teaching and artistic endeavor/scholarship potential, a commitment to a liberal arts undergraduate education by actively supporting SUNY Oswego’s general education curriculum and possess communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
All tenure track faculty are expected to participate in service activities on the department, school, and university level appropriate to rank with the goal of providing leadership. This would include academic advising, curriculum development, and recruitment.
