LSA 2020 Postponement
Dear Colleague:
The LSA Executive Committee writes with disappointing but not unexpected news. In consultation with the LSA Notre Dame University Site Committee, given the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation for the foreseeable future, we have decided to postpone the Latina/o Studies Association Conference for a year. We hope to be able to convene the conference in South Bend in Summer 2021.
While this is a tentative plan with much in flux and even more details to work out, it is certain the LSA Conference for this summer is cancelled. We recognize that this adds another level of uncertainty about how future conference scheduling may coordinate with your other commitments. Nevertheless, it seems the most prudent decision we can make given what we know at the moment.
In the meantime we will say that, amid a time of great uncertainty, it is inspiring to be among colleagues who have expressed such support, understanding, and care for each other. You are an inspiration and, together, we will move forward with a renewed commitment.
In solidarity,
