LaGuardia Community College-Lecturer- Broadcast Journalism

The English Department at LaGuardia Community College is seeking highly motivated and innovative candidates to fill a full-time position in English with specialization in broadcast journalism at the Lecturer or Lecturer with Doctorate level.
The Lecturer / Doctoral Lecturer will teach courses in broadcast, print/online, and/or multimedia journalism and college composition; provide academic advisement of students; actively participate in departmental and collegewide initiatives, including curriculum development and professional development activities; and be engaged in scholarly activities, such as conference participation.

QUALIFICATIONS
For Doctoral Lecturer:
Ph.D. in journalism or related field required. Significant professional experience in broadcast journalism, as well as prior experience teaching in higher education, are required. Ability to teach both in person and online is required. Expertise in teaching college level courses in print/online, and/or multimedia journalism and college composition is also required. Experience with reporting in diverse communities is desirable. Demonstrated professional achievement, and willingness to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

For Lecturer:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field required and master’s degree preferred. Significant professional experience in broadcast journalism, as well as prior experience teaching in higher education, are required. Ability to teach both in person and online is required. Expertise in teaching college level courses in print/online, and/or multimedia journalism and college composition is also required. Experience with reporting in diverse communities is desirable. Demonstrated professional achievement, and willingness to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
