Description
The Hispanic Research Center (HRC) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Scholar position in one or more areas that examines the experiences and challenges of the Hispanic/Latino community in the United States. The specific area of specialization in the study of Latinos is open, but preference will be given to candidates who bring an interdisciplinary perspective to their research and a desire to engage with faculty, students, and HRC affiliates to build an intellectual community. HRC is committed to the success of a Postdoctoral Research Scholar who will work closely with the HRC director and associate director, as well as other partners across ASU.
This position is for one year, with an anticipated start date of fall 2025. Options for an additional one or two years of funding may be offered, depending on HRC needs and available funding. The position is in-person, at the ASU Tempe campus.
Salary
$62,500 for the academic year; benefits eligible
Essential Duties:
No teaching is included in the appointment. The successful candidate will engage deeply in the priority research and outreach areas of the HRC, especially those that overlap with the scholar’s own work. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will:
- Participate in HRC events
- Develop, compile, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data related to the challenges and experiences of the Hispanic/Latino/a/e communities
- Help develop and pursue external funding opportunities (project development and grant writing)
- Engage in interdisciplinary and community collaborations and partnerships.
- Help craft and write research papers, funding applications, and policy briefs.
- Supervise and mentor research assistants/students.
